About Us

I have long been fascinated by the lives and designs of my great-grand father Edmund Hunter and my grandfather Alec. This website enables me to share with a wider audience their legacy of unique, vibrant and original handwoven textiles and designs. Above all, their work displays an extraordinary originality of subject and subtlety of texture, colour and detail driven by strong personal vision.

For the purposes of this website I have categorised the design work by theme. This arrangement is not perfect as many designs would happily fit into two categories possibly more. But for simplicity and with the limited space available these divisions must suffice for now.

I would like to thank the textile historian Vivien Best for the help, advice and encouragement she has given me in this endeavour.

Vivien knows more about the life and work of Edmund Hunter than, perhaps, anybody else alive.

I should also like to thank Dr Peter Groves of CJJ Law, London, for his expert advice on matters of intellectual property and copyright.
